A lifetime built around dogs

This program was not built by following a trend.

I am Laura Rodgers, and 3R Dachshunds is the result of nearly three decades spent breeding, raising and living alongside dogs. Experience has taught me that producing a beautiful puppy is only the beginning. The real goal is a healthy, confident dachshund with the temperament to become exactly what a family needs.

My program brings together carefully selected American bloodlines and dogs imported from Poland, Hungary, Russia and Italy. Parents are genetically health tested, and every pairing is planned with health, temperament, structure, coat and the future of the breed in mind. I do not make breeding decisions based on color alone, and I do not believe one impressive pedigree replaces years of knowing dogs.

The results can be seen in the lives 3R dogs are living today. They have become devoted family companions, therapy dogs, medical alert dogs and an AKC Grand Champion. Those accomplishments look very different from one another, but they begin in the same place: sound breeding, careful raising and a puppy that has been given every opportunity to thrive.

Nearly thirty years have taught me how to evaluate a pairing, recognize a puppy’s needs and make decisions that protect the dogs and the families who trust me.

Raised for real life

My puppies are raised in my home and nursery as part of everyday life. They receive hands-on care, human interaction, thoughtful socialization and time learning from the pack.

More than a pedigree

Health testing and strong bloodlines matter, but so do temperament, resilience and the ability to connect. I breed for the whole dog, not a photograph or a fashionable color.

A relationship that continues

My responsibility does not end on pickup day. I remain available for questions, celebrate updates for years and want every 3R family to know they can always reach back out to me.

I stand behind every dog I breed for its entire life. If a family’s circumstances ever change and they can no longer keep their dog, that dog will always have a home here with me. No 3R dog should ever be left without a safe place to land.

I cannot promise that raising a puppy will always be easy. I can promise that your puppy’s beginning will matter, that I will be honest with you and that I will care where that puppy’s story goes next. Every dog born into the 3R family remains part of it for life.
